I happened to meet Suyog in a bar in Thamel as I was making a report on 'Night Life' for a magazine. He had held a glass of wine observing others with slanted eyes.
"Hey, are you Seema's friend?' he asked me with intoxicated tongue. "No, I used to be her neighbour," I responded gently as we had already encountered once or twice before, when he used to come to meet Seema eventually.

"Would you prefer to hear my story friend?" he asked which I didn't deny.
"Do you have any girlfriend?" she asked to me while we were cycling to home. This inquiry compelled me to press brakes hardly. "Why? Should I have any?" I responded. "No, I don't mean that, most of smart guys are found engaged," she said. "I am not smart," Said I, just demonstrating a false smile. She didn't ask further but was still suspicious.
"Come on Seema, I don't know how to make girlfriend, no girl, ever told she loved me."
"Girls are not supposed to say their feeling, boys should break ice first."
"Do you have boyfriend, or to be?"
"No, not really," she laughed, "but I can't really believe, you don't have any girl."
"I'll try making one."
"Tell me first, ok."
"Sure," I said and we departed.

Next day, at college, in absence of a teacher, we were talking and guffawing together in groups. Previous night a question, that Seema has asked, struck my head. I could not sleep till midnight, 'Is she really interested in me? Otherwise, why did she ask about my girlfriend?' This question rolled with in me, before I went to sleep.
My eyes were searching Seema, but she was not in class, I wanted to talk to her, didn't know why?
'Am I in love with her?' I was thinking all about this and was sure to propose her that day, after all she herself had encouraged me for this.
"Where is Seema?" I asked to one of her escorts.
"She is crying in next room," she took me to her, in a vacant room, where Seema was sobbing like a child, hiding her head with her arms.
"Hey girl, what happened?" asked I.
When she noticed me there, she wiped her eyes and pretended as if nothing had happened.
"Come on, what has happened?" I asked again.
"See Suyog, we can't believe anyone these days, Ra....Ramesh proposed me," she said after a long persistence and started whining again.

All my plan went in vain. "Be strong Seema, you don't have to cry for this bit stuff, boys have turned rubbish these days," all this was I had said.
After few days we went to Surkhet in a field visit through college' course plan. We observed Radio Nepal station, Deuti Bajai, Bulbule Tal and also participated in a seminar in Mid Western University. We had booked few rooms in Hotel Rara to spend that night.
In the evening we had had our meal and gathered in the terrace to have fun and little talk about the visit. We were led by our teacher Mr Ram Krishna, he called all of us there. Seema was holding my hand while stepping ahead, I was being bit shy of this but couldn't say her to leave my hand. After some conversation we started dancing together till eleven and went to bed afterward.
It was twelve of night, I was lying below a thin sheet in a thick bed and was half asleep. Suddenly a message alert from my mobile awakened me up. It was from Seema, that said, 'Suyog, come up in the terrace, I'm waiting you.'
A hard breeze pierced through my heart. I went upward stealthily. With a lot of alarm, I reached there and saw Seema looking far in the sky. Her back was to my face. She turned and we smiled seeing each other, staring to one another's eyes. "Do you know Suyog? I am in love with one of our classmate," she said.
"What!" I exclaimed.
"What!" I exclaimed.
Suyog was overdrunk and not on his mind. Next moment he vomited on the floor. Two security personnel appeared there and drove him to the door. I didn't think appropriate to follow him in this condition.
